Share: Facebook twitter Linkedin More than 600 employees from around the world gathered virtually and in person to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8. Employees heard from thought leaders across our company about what it means to inspire inclusion in the workplace and beyond. Each year, International Women’s Day is a global celebration of the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day serves as a powerful reminder of the progress made toward gender equality and highlights the work that still needs to be done. Panelists at this year’s event included Lead Innovation Project Manager Sónia Celestino based in Lisbon, Yonkers Refinery Manager Tiffany Mathador, Senior Director of IT Odile Wittemans based in the United Kingdom, Chief Operating Officer Doug Romain and Florida Crystals Principal Research Scientist Shiva Ahrens. The event’s theme, Inspire Inclusion, aimed to motivate individuals to appreciate and promote the inclusion of women and to foster a sense of belonging, relevance and empowerment. Throughout the event, the discourse centered on the importance of fostering inclusivity in all aspects of life, from the workplace to our communities worldwide. Panelists shared personal anecdotes, strategies and challenges they've encountered throughout their careers. One of the highlights of the event was the emphasis on collective action and collaboration through mentorship. Panelists stressed the need for continued advocacy and mentorship to break down barriers and create more inclusive environments for everyone.
